Hina Khan Vs Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillaai, Chandivali Controversy: Who Lost? Who Gained? The Complete Story
Here’s the entire low-down on Hina Khan Vs Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillaai- a controversy which snowballed out of proportion
And then suddenly, we saw a sea of tweets from TV fraternity spraying the social media. Reason? Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillaai’s had posted comment on the actress’ appearance, which didn’t go down well with the Twitterati. Sharing Hina’s picture from red carpet, Jitesh had written, “Cannes has suddenly become Chandivali studios kya?" The barrage of tweets was so strong that we bet Jitesh must not have even dreamt that a comment on Hina's appearance in Cannes 2019 would invite such wrath against him. READ JITESH'S POST BELOW:

Worse, a few of Hina loyalists also initiated a few hashtags like #shameofjitesh, #chandivalitocannes, so that it reaches as many people as it can. And guess what! Tv actors Karanvir Bohra, Arjun Bijalni, Nia Sharma, Teejay Sidhu, Gauahar Khan and Nakuul Mehta among others slammed Pillaai left, right and centre and told him what he had done was bad in taste.
If you think that Hina deriving empathy from the janta is no big deal, Let us specifically tell you that Farah Khan, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli, senior journalist Rajeev Masand and even the superstar himself Salman Khan.stood up in Hina's defence.
That’s the spirit. Shame on elitist snobs who have none of your grace. https://t.co/5YhL4WcwSm

Look at him, an actor has gone to a film festival purely cos of her hardwork to present her film and here @jiteshpillaai Moushi ji humiliating her that too openly just cause she is an outsider, this is movie mafia and that’s why Kangana has pledged to destroy them. pic.twitter.com/Y0moCAlEXA

@eyehinakhan It was great to see you represent #India and #IndianTelevision at @Festival_Cannes. Five star editors might find it hard to digest, but your journey is an inspiration to millions of girls who aspire to become actors. More power to U! #ChandivaliSeCannesTak 🇮🇳

In the wee hours of morning today, Hina finally responded to Pillai's viewpoint She made him realise, 'she’s here to stay, she works hard and will make her own place'. “I was persistent, I m constant n I will b efficient again n again again. Don’t know where I belong, don’t know if I have to, as d Place don’t define me! Bcause as always I will work my a** off n I will make my own PLACE. My promise, a proud outsider from my Chandiwali studios”

And finally, Pillaai seemed to have realised that it was getting out of hand. The Filmfare Editor took to social media and apologised to the actress. Hina graciously accepted his apology and thanked him for acknowledging her post to him.
Many questions come to mind. What made Jitesh write that tweet? Why did he choose only Hina? What did Hina derive- empathy/publicity?
A colleague asked me today that why is Hina in Cannes. Pray, don't we need to change our mindsets, irrespective of what Pillaai actually meant?
Why do we consider international events as the be-all and end-all of this world? It's a pure case of 'we are smitten by foreign lands'.
It is clear that Hina won this round and diverted (without any personal effort) more eyeballs on her.
And the 64-million dollar question is: Isn't it time that we stop treating Tellywood as the second cousin of Bollywood? Artistes are artistes be it Tellywood or Bollywood, it take a lot to make a mark. Be it in Chandivali or in Cannes.
